Your concern about rust is completely valid—especially for outdoor furniture exposed to rain, humidity, and temperature swings. At our factory, we treat metal parts with a multi-layer, industrial-grade corrosion prevention system designed to withstand years of exposure. Here’s exactly how we do it:
First, every metal component—whether steel or aluminum—goes through a thorough pre-treatment stage. We start with a hot-dip galvanizing process for steel parts: the metal is dipped into molten zinc at around 450°C. This creates a durable zinc-iron alloy layer that bonds chemically to the steel, forming a barrier that actively prevents rust even if the surface gets scratched. For aluminum frames, we use a chromate conversion coating that passivates the metal, making it chemically inert to oxidation.
After galvanizing, we apply a heavy-duty powder coating. The parts are electrostatically charged and sprayed with a polyester-based powder that’s then cured in a high-temperature oven. This oven—set between 180°C and 200°C (356°F to 392°F)—melts the powder into a smooth, thick, and pore-free finish. Unlike liquid paint, powder coating doesn’t allow moisture to seep through microscopic gaps. Our standard outdoor bench receives a minimum of 80–100 microns of coating, which is double the industry norm for garden furniture.
We also seal all joints, welds, and fasteners. These are the most common entry points for moisture. Each weld is ground smooth, primed with a zinc-rich epoxy, and then coated with the same powder finish. Bolt holes are fitted with nylon or stainless-steel washers to prevent galvanic corrosion between different metals. All exposed screw heads are covered with waterproof caps.
Finally, we conduct a rigorous salt spray test on random samples from every batch. The parts are exposed to a continuous fine mist of 5% sodium chloride solution at 35°C for at least 480 hours—equivalent to several years of coastal outdoor use. Only after passing this test without any red rust are the benches approved for assembly and shipping.
For extra peace of mind, our benches come with a 10-year warranty against rust-through. This isn’t just marketing—it’s backed by a production line that treats each fastener, bracket, and frame as if it were defending against a hurricane. So when you place your bench in the garden or on the deck, that shiny finish isn’t just for looks; it’s a layered suit of armor against corrosion.
