To protect against this, we integrate multiple layers of animal-resistant engineering directly into every can we produce.

First, our lids feature a reinforced interlocking rim that creates a tight, seamless seal when closed. Raccoons use their dexterous paws to lift and twist, but our rim design has no convenient grip points, making it nearly impossible for them to get leverage. Second, we install a heavy-duty torsion spring locking system inside the handle assembly. This system requires a specific two-step human motion—press down, then pull outward—that raccoons simply cannot replicate with their paws or teeth. Once locked, the lid withstands up to 70 pounds of upward force, far beyond the strength of any raccoon or opossum.

Third, the can walls are made from high-density polyethylene with a smooth, non-porous surface that offers no footholds for climbing. We also add a weighted base that lowers the center of gravity, so even if a raccoon bumps or pushes the can, it won’t easily tip over. For extra protection, we offer an optional locking anchor strap that hooks to a wall or stake, keeping the can securely in place.

Finally, all of our designs are tested in real-world conditions. We place test cans in urban areas known for heavy raccoon activity and observe them overnight using motion cameras. If a raccoon manages to open a can, that design goes back to the drawing board. This continuous improvement loop ensures that every trash can leaving our factory is not just a container, but a fortress against wildlife.
