Great question! At our planter box factory, we understand that shipping logistics play a huge role in your purchasing experience. That’s why we offer both flat-packed and fully assembled options, depending on your needs and preferences.
By default, most of our orders ship flat-packed. This means each planter box is carefully disassembled into panels, corner brackets, and hardware, then bundled securely on a pallet. Flat-packing reduces the overall volume of each shipment, which significantly lowers freight costs—especially for large wholesale orders. It also minimizes the risk of damage during transit because the flat panels are less likely to shift or get crushed. The packaging is designed to be intuitive, and each bundle comes with clear assembly instructions and pre-drilled holes so you can put the boxes together quickly with basic tools. Most customers find assembly takes only 10 to 15 minutes per box, even without any prior woodworking experience.
However, we also recognize that not everyone wants to deal with assembly. If you prefer to receive your planters ready to use right out of the crate, we can assemble them at the factory before shipping. This option is ideal for contractors, interior designers, or homeowners who are installing multiple units and want to save time on site. Assembled planters are wrapped in protective foam and cardboard, and we use custom wooden crates for larger sizes to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Please note that the assembled option may increase the shipping cost due to the larger overall dimensions, and the lead time might be slightly longer because we need to allocate extra production time for assembly.
When you place an order, our sales team will ask about your project timeline, delivery location, and whether you have access to a loading dock or forklift. Based on that information, we’ll recommend the most cost-effective and safest shipping method. We’ve shipped thousands of units across the country in both forms, and many customers who initially choose flat-packed realize they actually enjoy the simple assembly process—it also lets them store the boxes flat until they are ready to use.
So, in short: yes, our planters normally come flat-packed unless you specifically request pre-assembly. But we’re always happy to customize your order. Just let us know what works best for your project, and we’ll make sure your planters arrive exactly the way you need them.
