Powder coating is not an afterthought; it’s an integral part of our manufacturing process. Every galvanized steel body goes through a multi-stage pretreatment: degreasing, phosphating, and passivation. Then we apply a thermoset polyester powder coating and cure it at high temperatures. This creates a thick, uniform, and flexible film that bonds at the molecular level. The result is a surface that resists chipping, fading, and peeling—even under intense UV exposure, rain, snow, or salt spray. Our powder-coated finish exceeds standard outdoor performance tests, including ASTM B117 salt spray testing and ASTM G154 UV weathering.

But we don’t stop there. To justify the word “outdoor,” we also reinforce critical areas: folded hems are sealed with corrosion-inhibiting primer, and all service doors use stainless steel hinges and rivets. We test complete trash cans—not just coupons—by exposing them to 1,000 hours of accelerated weathering and 500 hours of salt fog. If a sample shows even a pinpoint of rust, we reject the entire batch. This is why our bins carry a five-year warranty against rust-through on the steel body and ten-year warranty on the coating.
