First, the complexity of your design matters. A standard bench with a few material or color changes might ship in 10 to 15 working days. But if you request a fully bespoke structure, such as a curved backrest, special metal frames, or mixed materials like teak and galvanized steel, expect an additional 1 to 2 weeks for engineering review and prototype sampling.

Second, the production calendar plays a major role. During peak seasons, typically from March to August, our outdoor bench factory operates at full capacity, and lead times stretch to the upper end of that range. Orders placed between October and January often move faster, sometimes finishing in under three weeks because we can allocate dedicated production lines.

Third, material availability cannot be ignored. We normally stock common woods like cedar and acacia, as well as standard powder-coated steel. However, if you choose premium Ipe wood, recycled plastic lumber, or custom RAL color powder coating, we must order those materials from suppliers, adding anywhere from 5 to 10 working days before production even begins.

The production process itself includes cutting, welding, surface treatment, assembly, and quality inspection. For a typical run of 50 to 200 identical benches, production alone takes about 7 to 12 working days. Before that, we need 2 to 3 working days to confirm your technical drawings and finish contract details. After production, we also reserve 1 to 2 working days for final inspection and wrapping. If you require white-glove shipping with pallet strapping and protective corner guards, plan for one extra day on the loading dock.

So, how can you estimate your realistic lead time? The safest formula is: design confirmation time = 2-4 days, material procurement time = 0-10 days, production time = 7-15 days, and inspection / packing = 2 days. That gives you a total of about 11 to 31 working days. Add freight transit time separately, which varies from a few days for domestic truckloads to several weeks for overseas containers.

We strongly recommend that you share your detailed drawings or product photos early. If your order only needs small modifications, we can often fit it into an already-running production slot and cut the lead time by up to one-third. For large institutional projects, you should also consider factory-audited quality samples. A pre-production sample typically takes 5 extra days but can prevent costly mistakes at scale.

One more factor is your payment schedule. Our factory normally starts the raw material purchase after receiving a 30% deposit. Production begins after you approve the pre-production sample or, for stock designs, after the deposit is confirmed. If your contract includes an extended payment arrangement, we may wait until the first payment clears, adding a few banking days.
