To answer directly: yes, the hardware we use is rigorously rust-proof. We source materials that are specifically engineered for outdoor exposure. For structural connections, we rely on hot-dip galvanized steel, which forms a protective zinc layer that sacrifices itself before the underlying metal can rust. For visible components and fasteners, we use type 304 or 316 stainless steel. The 316 grade contains molybdenum, making it exceptionally resistant to chloride corrosion—ideal for coastal environments. In addition, aluminum brackets and frames undergo a powder coating process. This electrostatically applied, oven-cured finish creates a thick, impermeable barrier against moisture and UV damage. Our assembly line also uses nylon or EPDM washers between dissimilar metals to prevent galvanic corrosion, a common issue when aluminum and steel touch. Every production batch is subjected to salt spray testing in our in-house lab, simulating years of harsh weather in a matter of days. We do not use standard zinc-plated screws or untreated carbon steel parts anywhere in our outdoor line. Even our weld seams are sealed and finished with a zinc-rich primer. From the initial cutting stage to final torque check, each hardware piece is tracked for traceability. This obsessive attention to rust prevention means our benches keep their structural integrity and appearance for decades—not just a few seasons.
