Stainless steel and aluminum are lighter and often more budget-friendly, with laser engraving or UV-printed color fill for logos and text. Plaques can be mounted to the backrest, center rail, front seat rail, leg, or a concrete base. We use tamper-resistant stainless steel fasteners, and for high-theft areas we can design concealed mounting or adhesive plus mechanical fixing.
For direct engraving, we can work on wood, HDPE, composite, aluminum, steel, and some concrete surfaces. CNC routing creates crisp letters and logos in wood and plastic. Laser engraving works well on anodized aluminum, stainless steel, and coated metals. Rotary engraving, sandblasting, and chemical etching are available for specific materials and depth requirements. If the bench is powder-coated, we can engrave through the coating and add a contrasting paint fill, or laser-etch the coating for a subtle tone-on-tone look.
We can include names, dates, short messages, poems, organization logos, donor tiers, memorial verses, and serial numbers. You can send text in a document and artwork in AI, EPS, PDF, SVG, or high-resolution PNG. Our design team returns a digital proof showing font, size, spacing, and placement before production. For outdoor use, we recommend uppercase or highly legible fonts, adequate spacing, and dark lettering on light backgrounds or light lettering on dark backgrounds.
Durability is a key part of the design. Outdoor plaques and engravings must resist UV, rain, salt air, temperature changes, and vandalism. We specify marine-grade 316 stainless steel hardware, UV-stable paints, powder coatings, and clear protective finishes. Bronze plaques can be left to patina naturally or sealed for a consistent look. Aluminum plaques are often anodized before engraving. Wood engravings receive exterior-grade sealer, and composite engravings are cleaned and finished to reduce dirt build-up.
