Smaller office or bathroom cans are usually 12 to 18 inches (30 to 46 cm), while compact desktop bins can be 8 to 12 inches (20 to 30 cm).

Outdoor and utility trash cans are taller because they hold more volume. A standard 32-gallon can is often 31 to 36 inches (79 to 91 cm) high, and 45- to 55-gallon models commonly range from 36 to 42 inches (91 to 107 cm). Wheeled curbside carts can reach 40 to 45 inches (102 to 114 cm), depending on capacity and lid design.

The final height is affected by the body shape, lid type, foot pedal, wheels, and nesting features. If you are sourcing from a trash can factory, do not rely only on gallon capacity. Check the exact floor-to-lid height, opening height, and carton dimensions.
