What’s the longest length your outdoor bench factory can produce without needing a seam?

2026-09-19 Visits: Abstract: Our outdoor bench factory can produce seamless bench lengths up to 12 ft standard and 20 ft custom, depending on material, profile, and transport limits.

For most outdoor bench projects, our factory can manufacture a single-piece, seam-free bench up to 12 feet (3.66 meters) as a standard production length. That covers the majority of park, garden, campus, and streetscape benches without any visible or structural seam. For custom work, we can extend the seamless length to about 20 feet (6.10 meters). In select continuous-extrusion or engineered-metal profiles, we can reach approximately 24 feet (7.32 meters) after engineering review. Beyond that, shipping, handling, installation, and structural performance usually become the limiting factors rather than the manufacturing process itself.

What determines the maximum seamless length?

Material and profile matter. HDPE, aluminum, and some WPC profiles can be produced in long continuous runs. Steel and stainless steel can be fabricated in long sections, but welding, straightening, and finishing affect the final limit. Concrete and cast stone are usually molded in shorter sections.

Tooling and equipment also set practical limits. Our extrusion lines, CNC beds, curing ovens, and powder-coating systems determine how long a piece can be made, cooled, coated, and handled without distortion. A longer bench may require custom supports, cooling fixtures, or a larger oven.

Structure and load are critical. A 20-foot bench without a seam still needs proper support. We can design hidden legs, internal ribs, steel spines, or concealed brackets so the bench remains rigid and safe. A long single-piece bench is not the same as an unsupported span.

Finish and color must be controlled. Long pieces must cure and coat evenly. We adjust line speed, racking, and oven time to prevent warping, color variation, or surface defects.

Logistics often decide the real maximum. A 20-foot bench can usually ship in a 40-foot container or on a flatbed. A 24-foot piece may need special packing, crane handling, or dedicated freight. For projects over 24 feet, we often recommend a concealed mechanical joint or field-assembled design that looks seamless but is easier to transport and install.

If your design truly requires no seam at any length, tell us the length, material, load requirements, installation environment, and quantity. Our engineers will confirm whether we can produce it as one continuous piece or recommend the best hidden-joint alternative. For standard orders, expect up to 12 feet seamless. For custom projects, up to 20 feet is realistic, and up to 24 feet is possible with engineering approval. That gives you a clear starting point for planning a long outdoor bench without an unsightly seam.
