When customers ask what kind of anti-graffiti coating our outdoor bench factory applies to metal frames, the short answer is: we use a dual-layer, architectural-grade powder coating system, not a single generic paint. The exact specification depends on the metal substrate, climate, and expected level of urban abuse, but most outdoor bench frames receive a pretreatment, a polyester powder base coat, and a clear anti-graffiti topcoat.
For standard carbon steel or galvanized steel frames, we start with a multi-stage pretreatment. This may include alkaline cleaning, rinsing, and a chrome-free conversion coating or nano-ceramic pretreatment. The goal is to create a dense, adhesive surface for the powder. We then apply a TGIC-free or TGIC polyester powder base coat in the chosen color. This base coat provides color, UV stability, and mechanical protection. It is cured at approximately 180–200°C, forming a hard, cross-linked film.
The anti-graffiti performance comes mainly from the topcoat. Our factory typically applies a clear polyurethane powder topcoat or a fluoropolymer clear coat. These coatings have low surface energy, which makes spray paint, marker ink, stickers, and adhesive residue less likely to bond tightly. In many cases, graffiti can be removed with a mild solvent, warm soapy water, or a specialized anti-graffiti cleaner without damaging the color layer. For high-risk locations such as transit stops, parks, and schools, we can add a nano-ceramic anti-graffiti layer or a sacrificial wax-like coating. Sacrificial coatings are designed to be renewed periodically; they absorb the graffiti and are washed away.
For aluminum frames, we use a similar approach but adjust the pretreatment. Aluminum receives a chrome-free conversion coating or anodized base before powder coating. The anti-graffiti topcoat can be polyurethane, fluoropolymer, or a clear polyester with anti-graffiti additives. Stainless steel frames may be brushed or polished and then protected with a clear anti-graffiti lacquer or nano-coating.
We test the system rather than relying on a single product name. Typical tests include cross-hatch adhesion, impact resistance, salt-spray corrosion, UV accelerated weathering, and graffiti removal using standard markers and spray paints. We also check that the cleaner does not dull or discolor the finish. The factory can provide low-VOC, heavy-metal-free formulations that meet many public procurement and environmental requirements.
In short, our outdoor bench factory applies a dual-layer anti-graffiti coating system to metal frames: a corrosion-resistant pretreatment and polyester powder base coat, finished with a clear polyurethane, fluoropolymer, or nano-ceramic anti-graffiti topcoat. This gives outdoor benches a durable, easy-clean surface that keeps public spaces looking better for longer.
