At our trash can factory, product line updates are not tied to one fixed date. We review the catalog every six to twelve months, make smaller design or material improvements quarterly when needed, and plan larger launches every one to two years. The pace depends on customer feedback, retailer demand, sustainability rules, and advances in injection molding, coatings, and smart-bin features.
We do retire older models, but not automatically. A trash can model is usually phased out when sales decline for several seasons, replacement parts become costly, the mold reaches the end of its life, or new safety and environmental standards make the old design less competitive. If a model still sells well, we may keep it and refresh it with better lids, pedals, liners, or finishes instead of removing it.
For distributors and OEM clients, we usually give advance notice before discontinuing a product. That allows time for final orders, inventory planning, and a smooth switch to a newer model. In some cases, we maintain a legacy line for long-term contract customers, especially when the bin is used in hospitals, offices, or municipal programs that require consistent specifications.
So the short answer is: we update our trash can product line continuously but formally every six to twelve months, with major changes every one to two years. We retire older models selectively, when demand, tooling, compliance, or component availability makes retirement the smarter choice. The goal is not to change for change's sake, but to keep the lineup reliable, competitive, and easy for buyers to source.
