As an outdoor bench factory, we usually keep molds or patterns available for reorders for at least five years after the last production run, and often longer for active product lines. Standard outdoor bench molds are typically retained for five years. Custom patterns for unique castings, curved slats, armrests, or branded details are stored for three to seven years, depending on the customer agreement, mold material, and storage needs. If you expect repeat orders over many years, we can extend retention to ten years or more under a written mold storage agreement. Active molds remain in our system for as long as the bench model is in production. Before any reorder, we inspect the mold or pattern for wear, rust, warping, cracks, and surface damage. If it is in good condition, we can restart production quickly. If not, we quote repair, refurbishment, or a new mold. We also document dimensions, material specifications, and past modifications to protect fit and finish. After the retention period, molds that are not reordered may be recycled or returned only after written notice.
