The carrier treats residential addresses differently from commercial warehouses, so a residential surcharge usually applies.

Several charges shape the final number. Distance and freight zone set the base rate. Weight and pallet count determine the freight class. If the home has no loading dock or forklift, a liftgate is often required to lower the pallet to the ground. Appointment delivery, inside delivery, limited-access locations, gravel roads, gated communities, and remote areas can add more. Fuel and seasonal surcharges also change by carrier and date.

As a practical ballpark, a single LTL pallet of planter boxes delivered curbside to a residential address in the contiguous U.S. often falls between $250 and $700, with shorter-zone deliveries sometimes closer to $150–$350 and long-zone or remote deliveries reaching $500–$900 or more. These figures are only estimates. A small, parcel-eligible pallet may cost less, while multiple pallets or oversized planters can cost more. International, island, and white-glove deliveries are quoted separately.
