At our outdoor bench factory, armrests and backrests are not automatic on every model. We produce many outdoor bench families, from simple backless benches to full park benches with both backrest and armrests. For most base and economy models, armrests and backrests are optional add-ons or customizable features, not standard equipment. For selected comfort, premium, and commercial collections, however, they are included as standard because the design is built around ergonomic support and accessibility.
This means the answer depends on the model and your project goals. If you need a clean, minimalist look, low maintenance, or a lower unit price, a backless or backrest-only bench may be best. If you want enhanced comfort, easier seating for seniors, or compliance with specific accessibility expectations, armrests and backrests can be specified. In many cases, we can add one, both, or neither during production. We can also adjust armrest height, backrest angle, slat spacing, and mounting type.
For OEM and ODM orders, our factory can make armrests and backrests standard across an entire product line, optional as separate line items, or excluded completely. The key is to confirm the configuration before production. Some frames can accept bolt-on armrests or backrest kits later, but not all welded or cast designs are retrofit-friendly. To avoid mismatched parts, extra freight, or installation problems, we recommend choosing these features at the order stage.
If you are sourcing for parks, schools, municipalities, resorts, or commercial landscapes, we can create a mixed specification: standard benches with backrests for long-term seating, optional armrest models for accessible areas, and simple backless benches for high-traffic zones. Send us your model number or target design, and we will confirm which parts are standard, which are optional, and what custom changes are available.
