Common fire-conscious options include fire-retardant treated hardwood, powder-coated steel or aluminum frames, stainless steel hardware, concrete, granite, and fiber-cement bench tops. For high-heat zones, we can design with insulated mounting plates, heat shields, standoffs, and noncombustible structural supports. Fire-rated composite or HDPE can also be considered only when the specific sheet supplier provides valid fire test documentation; standard plastic or untreated wood is generally not suitable near open flame or persistent radiant heat.
