In humid climates, moisture and salt-laden air can quickly degrade unprotected metal, turning a sturdy outdoor bench into a rusted eyesore. At our factory, we prioritize long-term durability through a multi-layered rust prevention system tailored for high-humidity environments. Here’s how we protect every metal frame.

First, we select premium materials. All metal frames are fabricated from hot-dip galvanized steel or marine-grade aluminum. Hot-dip galvanizing creates a thick, zinc-rich barrier that chemically bonds to the steel, providing sacrificial protection even if the coating is scratched. For aluminum, we use an anodizing process that forms a hard, non-porous oxide layer.

Next, surface preparation is critical. Before any coating is applied, every metal frame undergoes an intensive three-stage cleaning: degreasing to remove oils, acid etching to eliminate micro-rust, and phosphate treatment to improve coating adhesion. This ensures no contaminants are trapped beneath the paint.

The primary defense is our specialized powder coating system. We apply a two-coat process: a zinc-rich epoxy primer that acts as a corrosion-inhibiting base, followed by a weather-resistant polyester topcoat. The powder is electrostatically charged and baked at 400°F, creating a seamless, thick shell that seals out moisture. For extreme humid regions, we offer an optional “marine-grade” clear coat that adds UV and salt-spray resistance.

Finally, every finished bench undergoes a 72-hour salt spray test (ASTM B117) in our quality lab. This simulates years of coastal or tropical exposure. Only benches that show zero red rust or blistering pass inspection. Additionally, we seal all bolt holes and welds with silicone plugs or seam-sealing tape to eliminate moisture entry points.
