Thank you for your interest in our public trash can models. The standard opening height for our factory’s public models is 75 cm (29.5 in), measured from the finished ground level to the lower edge of the disposal opening. This baseline is used on standard pedestrian-facing outdoor bins, including our single-stream and dual-stream public units. It is chosen to match comfortable hand-reach ergonomics for most adults, to help keep rain and debris out, and to work with common municipal mounting and installation practices.
When we refer to the clear opening itself, the standard aperture is 30 cm (11.8 in) high by 25 cm (9.8 in) wide for side-opening public models. For top-loading public bins, the lid opening is commonly 40 cm x 30 cm (15.7 in x 11.8 in), while the vertical clear height remains around 30 cm. This distinction matters because “opening height” can mean either the ground-to-opening height or the height of the aperture. Our engineering drawings list both values so installers and buyers can compare models accurately.
We also manufacture accessible and specialty public models. Senior-friendly and ADA-oriented units can be set at 70–85 cm from ground to opening, depending on the project’s reach-range requirements. Compact or high-capacity models may shift the opening by 5–10 cm while keeping the clear aperture near the standard 30 cm. For dual-stream recycling and waste stations, both openings are aligned to the same height unless a client requests a differentiated layout for color-coding or workflow.
If your project has local accessibility codes, school-safety rules, or custom branding requirements, our factory can adjust the opening height and aperture size within a validated range. For standard public models, however, the answer is straightforward: 75 cm from ground to the lower edge of the opening, with a 30 cm clear opening height. Share your target market and installation context, and our team can confirm the exact drawing for the model you are considering.
